Sunny yet Frozen

That's the summary for this time of year.... Currently the sun is blazing outside and if it weren't for the scent of woodstove in the air, just looking out the window I'd swear it was early summer just by the brilliant sunlight.

Again I lapsed in my posting and of course I have no excuse aside from life. Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans. Fall was lovely, I know I STILL haven't posted my Antlerstock photos or posted about the trip - it was AMAZING. And perhaps I'll get some time to actually go through the hundreds of photos and update here within the week or so.... When we arrived home I switched jobs so that took up most of my fall and winter free time.... We also got a puppy this past fall so that was a little time consuming.

Christmas came and went. So has our snow, although it always comes back in Muskoka, it's here currently but not nearly as much as usual. Which of course combined with the milder temperatures, the sun, and my raging Barnheart are creating quite the frothy mix of Spring Fever. Those that know me on a personal level know it really only takes a sunny mild day in February to send it into full blown FEVER.... With only one prescription (and no not cowbell).

I do love my new job and staff mates, which is always a bonus, but I also am getting that itch. That nagging tickle of seeds, chicken coop designs, bulbs bursting forth, fresh veggies overflowing their beds, and of course that smell.

That raw green scent, coating your skin with everything fresh, luring you into spending too many hours up to your elbows in the soil. Producing! I have another blog started - reserved - for the season. I had meant to start last year (our third year here with the garden etc.) but of course never did. So maybe BEFORE all that craziness really starts I'll find time (good luck), and update from the previous attempts and start at the beginning. The beginning of Heartwood Homestead....
